Technology and production talent are two of the major behind-the-scenes factors setting Colorado music apart and above the fray. Today’s KRFC MusicShare track has a one year journey that highlights many of the finest points of our music community on the way to a very happy ending (A FoCoMA Peer Award for both band and recording studio).
Let’s briefly run through the story then get right to the track.
A group of artists and producers come together to create a local feature film showcasing Fort Collins.
Seeking music from their friends and community, producers listened to a Winchester Holiday demo recording and subsequently gained permission to edit one of their songs for the movie soundtrack.
Needing production expertise to transform the demo into a fully-produced motion picture quality recording, producer Ben Mozer teamed with local musician, band-leader and producer Ben Prytherch to do the work.
To finish the recording, Ben Prytherch turned over the tracks to Stout Studios where Darren Radach completed the mastering process.
The resulting version of the song moved producers to feature it in their teaser trailer, released the week of the 2013 Fort Collins Musicians Association’s Peer Awards where Winchester Holiday took home “Best New Band” and Stout Studios took home “Best Studio.”
Please note that downloads offered via KRFC MusicShare are intended to introduce you to great talent in KRFC’s community, and are NOT CD-quality recordings. If you want those, please support the artists by buying their music and/or seeing them live.
If you’re in a band or are a musician looking to share your music, email your tracks to Andrew [at] krfcfm [.] org for consideration.
