April 2013 once again marks Local Music Appreciation Month in the city of Fort Collins.  In addition to many great local concerts and performances, the month-long occasion coincides with major community events including FoCoMA’s FoCoMX (The Fort Collins Music Experiment), The SpokesBUZZ SXSW Afterparty and The 10th Annual KRFC Birthday Bash.

KRFC is excited to announce the first “Local Music Appreciation Poster Art Competition,” which will run from February 18, 2013 through March 18, 2013.  The winner of the competition will have their original artwork/design featured on posters all over Ft. Collins. The poster will also be featured on multiple social media sites and KRFC’s website. The artwork/design may also be used in press kits, media events, special events, advertising, and more.

THE DETAILS:

–The competition is open to artists of all ages and backgrounds, including amateur artists as well as professionals. You may enter as many submissions as you would like.

–The artwork must be submitted in the form of a photo, design, drawing or painting and be 11” x 14” in size (or larger with the equivalent ratio). Digital artwork is also permitted and must be submitted as a PDF with a resolution of 300DPI.

–Original artwork will be returned to the artist. Digital artwork will be the shared property of the artist and KRFC. In the event images are used by KRFC, artist credit will be featured.

–The theme of the poster must be incorporated, i.e. Local Music Appreciation. The interpretation of this phrase is up to the artist.

–The text “April is Local Music Appreciation Month” must be prominently included in the design, or negative space must be left in the artwork to accommodate the text.

–Overall themes/ideas to think about in terms of what KRFC is conveying in this poster effort: celebration, Ft. Collins natural beauty, Ft. Collins urban beauty, modern meets Americana, intelligent, creativity.

–Images containing profanity, potentially offensive, political, or otherwise inappropriate messages will not be eligible for selection. Keep it clean!
