Children’s book illustrator Cathy Morrison has a passion for painting nature in a way that tells a story. Her beautiful attention to detail in both fiction and non-fiction works leaves the viewer’s imagination soaring. She uses research and perspective to create her stunning illustrations.
After receiving a double major in Fine Arts and Education, Cathy took up employment as a teacher, then an animator, and then started her own business as a freelance graphic designer. Over the years, her medium has changed from pencil and paper, to watercolor, and finally to digital. She continues to draw from her experiences traveling and with her children to inspire her work.
Cathy’s work can be seen in books like The Prairie That Nature Built written by Marybeth Lorbiecki or Over on the Farm written by Marianne Collins Berkes.
