Abstract painter Jennifer Davey is on a quest to understand her spiritual nature against the backdrop of contemporary culture. The lineage of painting, in particular, post-WWII American painters, greatly informs her visual language and approach to the canvas. She activates her abstract visual language in combination with contemplative practices.
Born and raised in Colorado, the wide open landscapes of the West have always influenced Jennifer’s thinking and belief in what is possible. Experiences living over-seas in Wales, Japan, and India further deepened her visual thinking and making. She is fascinated by psychology, mythology and loves how art can integrate and transform human suffering.
Jennifer’s work is held in multiple private collections and has been exhibited at the Fort Collins Museum of Art as well as Point Gallery in Denver. (And RARE Italian restaurant in Fort Collins has a collection of her work.)
