Frequently Asked Questions
Funding and Affiliation
No, we’re not. KRFC is a completely independent community radio station with no affiliation to other public radio organizations.
We get a good portion of our annual income from CPB grants, however, since it is at the mercy of the Federal government’s budget, it is always in question, and so we aim to raise as much money as we can, independent of the CPB, through avenues such as private donations and memberships.
The KRFC studios are located on the campus of The Music District, and we are thankful to be able to partner with the Bohemian Foundation on a number of music-related projects. Bohemian and The Music District do not provide funding for KRFC’s operations.
